The economics curriculum is designed to provide students with a conceptual
and analytical framework necessary to understand the complex interrelationships
which exist in modern industrial nations. The curriculum requirements are
sufficiently flexible to allow the student to concentrate in one of several
areas, including monetary, international, labor, and social economics. The
program is designed to provide students with the background to function
as intelligent and informed citizens and to pursue careers in government
service and business and industry. Undergraduate economics majors are also
well prepared to pursue graduate work in economics. Furthermore, a major
in Economics is an excellent preparation for law school.
