The General Location of Kent State Salem:
Kent State Salem is located at 2491 State Route 45, about two and one-half miles south of East State Street (Route 14). Route 14 is the "main drag" in Salem, which runs east and west. However, Route 45 does not go directly through Salem. The Salem street that connects to Route 45 (and Kent Salem) is Lincoln Avenue, which runs north and south through Salem.

From the North on Route 11:

1. Exit Route 11 at the Columbiana exit. At the exit ramp stop sign, turn left onto Route 46. Follow Route 46 to Route 14. There is a traffic signal at this intersection.
2. At the signal at Route 14 turn right. Follow Route 14 west through Washingtonville and then into Salem. Proceed west through Salem onto East State Street (Route 14) and watch for a Family Video store on the right corner of a major intersection with traffic signal.
3. At the signal by the Family Video store, turn left onto South Lincoln Avenue. Continue straight on South Lincoln Avenue for about two and one-half miles. South Lincoln Avenue eventually becomes Route 45. The campus is on the right just after you top a hill.

From Youngstown/Boardman Area:

1. Take Route 7 (South Market Street) south to North Lima. Turn right at the stoplight in North Lima onto Route 164. Follow Route 164 to Route 14. (There is a plaza on the right at this intersection.) At the traffic signal at Route 14 turn right.
2. Follow Route 14 west through Washingtonville and then into Salem. Proceed west through Salem onto East State Street (Route 14) and watch for a Family Video store on the right corner of a major intersection that has a traffic signal.
3. At the signal by the Family Video store, turn left onto South Lincoln Avenue. Continue straight on South Lincoln Ave for about two and one-half miles. South Lincoln Avenue eventually becomes Route 45. The campus is on the right just after you top a hill.

From Canfield, Route 62:

1. Follow Route 62 south to Salem. But do not turn right where routes 62 and 45 begin to "bypass" Salem at the north end of town. Continue straight ahead onto Route9. This is also North Lincoln Avenue.
2. Go straight into Salem on Route 9/North Lincoln Avenue. At State Street (Route 14), the "main drag" in Salem, (there is a Family Video store on the left corner) continue straight through the light onto South Lincoln Avenue for about two and one-half miles.
3. South Lincoln Avenue eventually becomes Route 45. The campus is out of town on the right just after you top a hill.

From Ellsworth/Lordstown Area, Route 45:

1. Follow Route 45 south to Salem until you come to the intersection of the Route 62-45 bypass. This is a major intersection (a 4-lane highway and median strip) with a left turn lane and traffic light. Turn left (east) onto the 62-45 bypass. Note: This is a very wide left turn!
2. Follow the Route 62-45 bypass east a short distance until it "ends" at a place you can only go left or right. At the stop sign, turn right (south) onto Route 9. Follow Route 9 (which becomes North Lincoln Avenue) into Salem.
3. Go straight into Salem on Route 9/North Lincoln Avenue. At State Street (Route 14) the "main drag" in Salem, (there is a Family Video store on the left corner) continue straight through the light onto South Lincoln Avenue for about two and one-half miles.
4. South Lincoln Avenue eventually becomes Route 45. The campus is out of town on the right just after you top a hill.

From the Kent/Akron Area, Route 14:

1. Take I-76 east to the Alliance exit at Route 14. Follow Route 14 to Salem. At the western edge of Salem is the intersection of Route 14 and "the bypass" for routes 45 and 62. Turn right on this bypass but--IMPORTANT-- ignore a first encounter with a left-only turn onto a highway marked "45." Keep going.
2. Remember there is a traffic signal at the intersection where you want to turn right. Turn right onto the Route 45-62 bypass at the traffic signal.
3. Follow this until it ends at a traffic signal where you can only go left or right. There is a Dairy Mart on the corner. Turn right at this signal. The campus is about a half mile on the right just after you top a hill.

From the East Liverpool Area:

1. Take State Route 30 west to State Route 45 north through Lisbon to the Salem Campus on left.
2. Or coming up Route 11, exit at Lisbon. At the exit ramp stop sign, turn left onto Route 154. Follow Route 154 into Lisbon where it joins Route 45.
3. Follow Route 45 north through Lisbon, roughly siz miles to the Kent State Salem Campus on the left side of Route 45.
