New Library Materials - Linking Instructions
If you would like to list new library materials on your department's web site, you can link directly to the New Materials search script. This script accepts a number of parameters which can be used to customize the display of the new materials. All of these parameters are optional. Parameters must be separated by an ampersand (&) and there can be no spaces anywhere in the URL. All parameters and options are case-sensitive. A default value, which is shown in parenthesis for each parameter, is used if a value is not provided.
The URL of the New Materials search script is:

Here are the parameters available:
- display - (off) determines whether the search criteria is displayed on the results page. The options are 1) on, or 2) off.

dept - (any) determines which department or regional campus location to use in the selection. A list of the LMS department and regional campus codes can be viewed here. Note that the regional campus codes begin with a plus (+) sign.

start_month - (previous month) together with start_year, determines the first month to include in the search. This is specified as the month number, 1 through 12.

start_year - (year of previous month) see start_month above. This is specified as the four-digit year, e.g. 2001.

end_month - (previous month) together with end_year, determines the last month to include in the search. This is specified as the month number, 1 through 12.

end_year - (year of previous month) see end_month above. This is specified as the four-digit year, e.g. 2001.

type - (any) determines the type of materials to list. The options are: 1) books, 2) serials, or 3) multimedia.

keywords - (none) subject keywords separated by commas that must be present in the selection. Spaces must be replaced with plus (+) signs.

sortby - (title) determines the sorting order of the display. The options are: 1) title, 2) author, or 3) location.

limit - (20) determines the number of items to display on each page of results.
For example, to display all of the new books added to the library collection for the Geology department for the previous month, you would include the follow link in your HTML:
