Checking Out Reference Materials

Reference materials normally do not circulate, except overnight. At the discretion of a reference librarian, reference materials may be checked out for a very limited period of time to holders of valid Kent State University IDs or Courtesy Cards.

The following materials do not circulate at any time:

• Directories, almanacs, and encyclopedias in the Reference Collection
• Federal and state legal reporters and digests in the Reference Collection and Main tower stacks
• Foreign language dictionaries in the Reference Collection
• Looseleaf materials in the Reference Collection and Main tower stacks
• May 4 Collection
• Reference Desk Collection
• Encyclopaedia Britannica, 9th and 11th editions
• National Union Catalog
• United States Congressional Serial Set
