Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get a username and password?
What are the different search options?
What if I just want to see what's offered and read about the classes?
I am still unable to register...why?

Q. How do I get a username and password?
A. To receive a username and password, you need to stop in at the Student Recreation and Wellness Center Pro Shop with your photo ID. If you already have an account with us (if you are a Kent State student, you DO), we will simply look up your randomly assigned temporary ID number and give it to you. If you are not a student and have never registered for any programs or memberships with us, it will take a few minutes because we will need to create a household for you. You also have the option of calling us, 330-672-4732, and providing some personal information so we can verify your identity. We can then give you your username and password.

Q. What are the different search options?
A.• Listing or "Sort by Activity Number"
This option allows you to enter the activity number of your desired program in order to receive the program information. The activity number can be found in the Program Guide or on the web immediately following the program title. For example:

Diaper Dolphins - 230000 <---- This is the activity number to be entered in the search box at the top of the page.

Advanced Search
This option requires a more extended knowledge of the activity. You must complete a number of navigation fields (Age Range, Grade Range, Date Range, Time Range, Days of Week etc.) before your listing can be found. This option is better to use if you are looking for a class to take on a Tuesday evening, for example. It is not suited for finding information on a specific program.

Type Search or "Sort by Activity Type
To utilize this method, you must first use the drop down menu to choose the area of the SRWC that your desired program is held under. For instance, the Water Safety Instructor - 141003 would be under Certifications in the drop-down menu. You would then be given a list of results matching your inquiry regarding Certifications. This is the easiest way to search if you don' t have the activity number but you do know the type of class you are interested in finding.

Q. What if I just want to see what's offered and read about the classes?
A. If you don't want to register online, checking out programs is even easier. Simply click on the "Guest" button on the main WebTrac page.

Guest option:
• If you would just like to browse, simply click on "Guest."

• The next page will have a side bar with a "Search/Inquire" tab.

• Go to "Program Registration" and click on a search option.

• "Listing" will list classes in order of their section number.

• "Advanced Search" will allow you to search all programs with certain criteria.

• "Type Search"  will allow you to select a program according to department.

• Click on the hyperlinked activity description that you would like to learn more about.

• You will be presented with specific information on your program.  The links in the "Notes" section will provide more specific information.

You can also find detailed information in our program guide.  Pick one up the next time you visit the SRWC!

Q. I am still unable to register...why?
A. The most likely problem is that we may not have your birthday entered in to our computer system. Many of our classes have age restrictions, so the computer checks to see if you are in the right age category for the class. If you have no birthday in the system, that will create a registration problem. To correct this, call us with that information and we will update our computer records.

• Birthday - The likely problem is that we may not have your birthday entered into our computer system. If you have not entered your birthday, the computer reads your age as 0, therefore making you ineligible for registration of any program.
• Registration Date - You are trying to register for a program after the registration date has passed.
• Class Status - The class or program your are attempting to register for is full or pending. Sometimes classes are pending due to instructor or class attendance issues.
Membership Status - If you added a family member to your household, you will not be able to register that person for classes until the next day, when the information updates in our system.
